    Assistant Men's Basketball Coach
Following four years of calling Manhattanville University home, Benjamin Merritt was hired as the leading assistant coach of the Manhattanville men's basketball team ahead of the 2026-27 season.

A four-year collegiate varsity basketball player, the last three of which were spent with the Valiants, Merritt has already carved out an impressive coaching resume over the past few years. Merritt has hosted individual skills training sessions with athletes across Westchester County and in West Hartford, Conn. since 2022. In 2025 while pursuing his Master of Science in sports business management at Manhattanville, Merritt served as a volunteer assistant coach for the men's basketball team, aiding in running practices, player development and skill enhancement. Merritt was heavily involved in scouting and analyzing film to prep Manhattanville's game plans for the 2025-26 campaign.

Away from Manhattanville, Merritt worked as an assistant coach at King School in Stamford starting in November of 2025 and picked up a head coaching position with CT Elite out of Trumbull, Conn. starting in February 2026.

Merritt also founded 365 Recruits Corporation in 2022, a service aimed at assisting collegiate prospects in their goals of getting recruited to further their basketball careers.

Merritt played for the Valiants from 2022 to 2025, playing 60 games over his three seasons at Manhattanville. He began his collegiate career as a freshman at St. John Fisher, playing seven games in his 2021-22 freshman season.

Merritt earned a Bachelor of Arts in sport studies with a minor in exercise science in August of 2025 from Manhattanville, ahead of earning his sports business management master's in May 2026.
