Tricia Molfetta completed her second season as head coach of the Manhattanville women’s lacrosse team and her third season overall with the program in 2017.

Molfetta led the Valiants to one of the best seasons in program history in 2017, tying the school single-season wins standard with an 11-6 record and winning five MAC Freedom games to earn a berth in the MAC Freedom Tournament semifinals for the first time in four years. The team's five-win improvement from 2016 is the largest single-season wins increase in program history, while the team's 9.92 goals against average was the lowest for a season in school history. After the year, the team had five players recognized on the All-MAC Freedom teams, tying for the most in a season in school history.

Molfetta was elevated to the role of head coach for the 2016 season and guided the team to a 6-10 record, marking the most wins in a season since 2011. The Valiants surpassed their 2015 win total after just seven games thanks to a 5-2 start, which was the best beginning to a season since 2009. After the season, sophomore Carly Weiss and freshman Kat Reilly were both recognized on the All-MAC Freedom second team, making Manhattanville one of only three conference teams to boast multiple All-Conference underclassmen.

Molfetta previously served as the top assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the Valiants in 2015, joining the program after serving as the assistant coach for Division III Purchase College. During this time, Molfetta also served as the founder and head coach of the Rye Neck High School women’s lacrosse team.

Molfetta was a four-year starter in the midfield for the Division I Stony Brook University women’s lacrosse team from 2008-11. In 50 games playing for the Seawolves, Molfetta scored 12 goals while collecting 71 ground balls and controlling three draws. Molfetta was named team captain in both her junior and senior seasons.

In addition to her playing career, Molfetta was the Assistant Director of Sport and a school coaching officer for the prestigious Oakham School in England. Outside of coaching, Molfetta served as the Director of Operations for Team Uganda during the men’s lacrosse World Championships. She is also American Red Cross First Aid and CPR certified.

Molfetta graduated from Stony Brook in May of 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in health science.
