NATA- The National Athletic Trainers' Association

The Manhattanville College Sports Medicine department works to provide all Valiant student-athletes with comprehensive healthcare while placing special emphasis on the following domains of athletic training:
1. Prevention of athletic injuries
2. Recognition, evaluation and immediate care of athletic injuries
3. Any necessary rehabilitation of those injuries
4. Health care administration
5. Professional development

As part of a complete allied health team, the goal of the Manhattanville Sports Medicine staff is to enhance the quality of care for the student-athletes while advancing the profession of athletic training. This is done in cooperation with local team physicians, the college's health center, and various health care professionals within the community.

Manhattanville College Sports Medicine is privileged to be affiliated with some of the best physicians in the Westchester area. Our student-athletes benefit from a close relationship, both professionally and geographically, with ONS and head team physician Dr. Demetris Delos. He has extensive experience caring for athletes of all competitive levels, including professional, college and high school athletes. He is a former assistant orthopedic surgeon for the NY Giants Football team and is currently the team physician for the Westchester Flames semi-professional soccer team.

The main athletic training room for Valiant student-athletes and the Sports Medicine offices are located on campus in the lower level of the Kennedy Gym. The staff is available for all Manhattanville practices and games as well as throughout the day during the school year for the sole use of Manhattanville's 300-plus student-athletes.

In order to provide the best medical care possible to Manhattanville student-athletes, the Sports Medicine Department, in compliance with NCAA guidelines, requires each student-athlete to complete medical paperwork before each school year. All forms are located in SportsWare (swol123.net). Student-athletes can find instructions on how to create a SportsWare account under the Athlete Corner Tab. The due date for all paperwork is August 1st. All forms must be on file prior to a student-athlete's participation in intercollegiate athletics at Manhattanville.
