PURCHASE, N.Y. –  Senior Shadrack Andenga Odinga (Kakamega, Kenya) scored a pair of goals for his first collegiate multi-goal game as the Manhattanville men's soccer team defeated USCAA member Berkeley College, 5-0, in a non-conference matchup on Wednesday evening at GoValiants.com Field.

The Valiants scored quickly into the contest as senior Kenneil Haye (Queens, N.Y.) scored from 15 yards away after a nice pass from Emil Sjoberg (Stockholm, Sweden) just 32 seconds into the contest. The Valiants then added their second goal of the contest as Odinga found the back of the net from 10 yards away beating Camilo Montes, who eventually was pulled after the second goal.

The Valiants continued their offensive attack with two more goals in the first half from sophomore Marco Blasetti (Yonkers, N.Y.) and Odinga again. Blasetti scored in the 28th minute on an empty net goal as Sjöberg deked the netminder out of the cage and found Blasetti for the easy tap-in. Odinga finished his night with a beautiful goal inside the goal mouth after he lost control of his dribble around the six-yard box and then regained the touch to score the goal.

The Valiants finished out the scoring in the 56th minute of the second half, as sophomore Eros Olazabal (Milton, Ontario) sent a nice header to the back of the net off a cross from classmate Moshee Kelyana (Scarborough, Ontario) on the wing. The Valiants finished the contest with an 18-1 advantage in shots and a 4-2 edge in corner kicks.

Manhattanville (9-6-1, 2-3-1 Freedom) will conclude the Freedom Conference portion of the regular-season on Saturday evening at 6 p.m. as they host Delaware Valley College in a match the Valiants need to win in order to stay alive in the race for a conference tournament berth. Senior Night will begin 10 minutes before the start of the contest and can be seen live on GoValiants.TV.
