The Valiants trailed by three goals heading into the final period and got within a goal of tying the contest but were unsuccessful in completing the comeback.
Although the Manhattanville defense allowed three goals for just the second time this season, both Valiant goals came from the point as sophomore Lauren Nutkevitch (Montreal, Que.) and freshman Tori Pizzuto (Waterbury, Conn.) scored for the home team in the final period. Manhattanville finished the contest with a one-shot advantage over the Bantams (37-36).
The visiting team scored all three goals on special teams, with their first two goals of the game on the man-advantage and their last tally on the penalty kill.

Payson Sword and Domi Di Dia were credited with the assists to give the visiting team a 1-0 lead. With a minute remaining in the second stanza Weiss added her second point of the night with an unassisted shorthanded goal to give the Bantams a 3-0 lead.
Manhattanville regained their composure in the third period with a pair of tallies from Pizzuto and Nutkevitch. The first Valiant goal came 4:13 into the period with senior Jess Scioli (North Reading, Mass.) and sophomore Jessica Kehoe (Kemptville, Ont.) finding the defender for the blast. Four minutes later, Nutkevitch ripped a shot behind Bantams' netminder Alexa Pujol with fellow defender senior Erica Garcia (Highland, Calif.) getting the assist.
Goaltending on both sides made important saves to keep their teams alive, as Pujol made 35 saves for the Bantams and sophomore netminder Emy Cote (Saint-Hubert, Que.) suffered her first loss of the season despite making 22 saves.
