MANCHESTER, N.H. –
The Manhattanville women's hockey team suffered a tough loss at the hands of Saint Anselm College on Friday afternoon, 4-1, as the Valiants surrendered three power-play goals to the Hawks at Sullivan Arena in an ECAC East Conference matchup.

The Valiants' only tally of the game came late in the final period as senior captain Shannon Coffey (Malden, Mass./North American Hockey Academy) found sophomore Mary Rose Morrison (Ridgefield, Conn./Connecticut Stars (MFYHL)) for her 10th goal of the season with 2:32 left in the contest. The Valiants were outplayed for much of the game and finished on the wrong end of a 31-19 shots total.

The Hawks led 4-0 before the Morrison goal, as three of the four goals came with the man-advantage. Kristen Byrne led the Hawks with a pair of goals, followed by goals from Kathryn Picarello and Courtney Winters.

Sophomore netminder Emy Cote (Saint-Hubert, Quebec/Dawson College) did all she could to help her team as she made 27 saves in the loss. Amy Zappen made 18 saves for the victory.

Manhattanville (12-5-1, 9-2-0 ECAC) will return to the ice tomorrow afternoon against UMass Boston at 2 p.m.
