RYE, N.Y. – The Manhattanville women's hockey team unleashed a 50-shot performance towards the Utica goal and found the back of the net twice as they defeated the Pioneers 2-1 on Friday evening in an ECAC East/West non-conference battle at Playland Ice Casino.
The Valiants poured on the shots in the contest as they outshot the Pioneers 50-17 and had at least 14 shots in all three periods. Despite not scoring on seven man-advantages, the Valiants took 21 shots on goal during their 14 minutes of attack time.

The Valiants tied the contest nearly three minutes later, as sophomore Katie Little (Victoria, British Columbia/Team British Columbia) found a streaking freshman Haleigh Hutchinson (Allen Park, Mich./Honeybaked (TOEHL)) who cashed-in on her fourth goal of the season with a backhanded breakaway goal.
Senior Captain Shannon Coffey (Malden, Mass./North American Hockey Academy) gave the Valiants the eventual game-winning goal early in the second period with junior Jackie Solomito (Sea Cliff, N.Y./Niagara University (CHA)) sending a pass to the forward at the 3:54 mark.
