DOYLESTOWN, Pa. -
The Manhattanville women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 Freedom Conference contest on the road to Delaware Valley on Tuesday afternoon.

Junior Morgan Rebollal (Holtsville, N.Y./Sachem East) scored the lone goal of the game for Manhattanville in the 82nd minute, but it was not enough as the Aggies got goals from in the fifth minute and the 54th minute to build up a two-goal advantage capable of withstanding a Valiant score.

Delaware Valley posted a 17-6 edge in shots on the afternoon as well as holding a 7-2 edge in corner kicks. Junior Brianna Scapperotti (Harrison, N.Y./Harrison) made six saves in goal for the visitors, while Julie Burnell stopped a pair of shots for the home team.

Nicole Huff got the scoring started at the 4:16 mark, as she took a pass from Dana Gentile and found the net for her third of the year. The next score came exactly 49 minutes later, as Ariel Butera fed Marianne Morton to give the home team a two-goal edge.

Manhattanville attempted a comeback late in the contest, as Rebollal picked the corner on a free kick from 25 yards out for her third goal of the year, tying her for the team lead in scores. That was all the Valiants could muster, however, in dropping their fourth consecutive Freedom Conference contest.

With the loss, Manhattanville (2-14-0, 1-4-0 Freedom) is officially eliminated from postseason contention and will see its streak of six consecutive conference tournament berths come to an end.

The Valiants return home for another tough Freedom Conference test on Saturday afternoon at GoValiants.com Field against Eastern at 1 p.m., with the live GoValiants.TV video broadcast beginning at approximately 12:50 p.m. Delaware Valley (7-5-2, 3-2-0 Freedom) will host Wilkes on Saturday at noon.
