DALLAS, Pa. –
The Manhattanville women's volleyball team closed out its 2011 Freedom Conference schedule on Wednesday night on the road against Misericordia, with the Valiants falling by a 3-0 (25-11, 25-20, 25-14) score at the Anderson Center.

In the final conference match of the 2011 season, the Valiants only had nine attack errors and hit .183 for the match, but the team's 22 kills were dwarfed by the 42 put down by the Cougars. The MU tandem of Cailin McCullion and Krystal Burford combined for 23 kills just by themselves, as McCullion had a match-high 13 kills and only one error and Burford added 10 kills herself.

Senior Maggie Black (Seattle, Wash./The Center School) led Manhattanville with six kills and a .417 hitting percentage. Freshman Sam Delmer (Boise, Idaho/Eagle) added five kills, three service aces and 12 digs for the visitors in a losing effort, while senior Makana Gomes (Honolulu, Hawaii/'Iolani) had five kills and 10 assists as well.

Manhattanville (15-13, 1-6 Freedom) will complete the 2011 season on Saturday afternoon, as the Valiants take on Centenary (N.J.) College and Montclair State University at the Centenary Tri-Match beginning with a noon meeting with the host Cyclones. Misericordia (12-12, 3-4 Freedom) will conclude the year on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Rosemont.
