PURCHASE, N.Y. –
Led by the .727 hitting of senior Courtney Reinhold, AVCA #5 Eastern University hit an excellent .439 as a team in sweeping Manhattanville, 3-0 (25-6, 25-7, 25-10), in a Freedom Conference women's volleyball matchup on Tuesday night at Kennedy Gymnasium.

It was a quick night's work for the nationally ranked Eagles, who posted 43 kills to just seven errors on 82 attempts. Manhattanville, meanwhile, was limited to nine kills and 15 errors on 74 attempts (-.081).

In addition to Reinhold, who had eight kills without an error on 11 attempts, freshman Kearby Benak also had an excellent outing by putting down a match-high 10 kills without an error on 22 attacks (.455). Senior Maria Horning had the night's lone double-double with a match-high 30 assists and 10 digs.

Senior Makana Gomes (Honolulu, Hawaii/'Iolani) had a solid match for Manhattanville in a losing effort, as she led the team with six kills and also tied for the match-high with 13 digs. Freshman Sam Delmer (Boise, Idaho/Eagle) added a pair of kills and eight digs for the home team as well.

Manhattanville (9-8, 0-4 Freedom) will have little time to rest before the next match, as the Valiants are right back in Kennedy Gym in less than 24 hours to host Mount Saint Mary in a non-conference matchup starting at 7 p.m. Eastern (19-1, 4-0 Freedom) will host Cabrini on Saturday at 10 a.m.
