Manhattanville Drops Freedom Fight to King's (Pa.), 3-0

Box Score WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Manhattanville women's volleyball team remained winless in Freedom Conference play thanks to a 3-0 (25-16, 25-22, 25-20) loss at the hands of King's (Pa.) in a hard-fought matchup on Wednesday night at Scandlon Gym.

Freshman Alissa Primavera (Brewster, N.Y./Brewster) and senior Susy Camaj (Lagrangeville, N.Y./Millbrook) combined for 25 kills to lead Manhattanville (13-7, 0-3 Freedom), with Primavera posting a team-high 14 put downs, but the remainder of the team managed only five kills on the night. Freshman Megan Quinabo (Pearl City, Hawaii/Kamehameha Schools-Kapalama) added 26 assists and junior Alyssa Casino (Rye Brook, N.Y./Maria Regina) had a team-best 13 digs as well.

King's (10-5, 1-2 Freedom) was paced by Elen O'Donnell, who led all players with 17 kills and added 16 digs for the match's only double-double. Mary Loughran posted a match-best 33 assists while Sarah Busse matched O'Donnell for the match lead with 16 digs.

Manhattanville will step out of conference but not out of the MAC this weekend for the annual Freedom/Commonwealth Crossover Tournament, as the Valiants host Albright, Alvernia and King's (Pa.) at Kennedy Gym for a four-match event on Saturday. Manhattanville will take on Albright at 11 a.m. and Alvernia at 5 p.m., with the Lady Monarchs also taking on both Commonwealth squads at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
