Box Score MADISON, N.J. – The Manhattanville men's soccer team struggled to get anything going against Drew University on Sunday and fell by a score of 3-0.
The Rangers applied pressure on Manhattanville in the 16th minute when senior Matthew Gragnano stole the ball away from the Valiant defenders inside the box and finished it for the first goal of the game.
The Valiants were out of sync on the offensive end and had trouble developing any possible opportunity for a goal.
Junior John Noglewich increased the Rangers lead to 2-0 in the 43rd minute after finding the back of the net off an assist from freshman Sebastian Etta Ashu.
At halftime the Rangers not only lead 2-0 but also dominated in shot attempts with a differential of 14-0.
Drew didn't slow down in the second half and continued their pursuit on the Manhattanville net.
After sophomore goalkeeper
Steve Singson (Deer Park, N.Y./St. Anthony's) couldn't maintain control off a shot from the Rangers in the 69th minute, freshman Joe Sollod was in the right place to put it home for another Drew goal.
Singson contributed seven saves but allowed all three goals in 75 minutes of work. Freshman
Sean McAllister (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip) was subbed in for the last 15 minutes and made two saves.
The Valiants were outshot by a total of 30-4 and gave up 16 corner kicks without attempting one in the game.
Manhattanville falls to 2-5 on the year and will look to snap a four game losing streak as they take on Rutgers-Camden on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. in Camden, N.J.
