Men's Soccer Blanked by Brewers, 1-0

Box Score Poughkeepsie, NY - The Manhattanville men's soccer team fell to Vassar College by a final score of 1-0, despite a great effort on defense by the Valiants. The lone goal of the game came off the foot of Cosmo Veneziale who drilled home a cross in the 14'.

The Valiants played solid on the road, "We were very good in the first half and were unfortunate to go in a goal down at halftime" stated Coach Miller. "It was a silly mistake that led to that goal … other than that we defended quite well. "

Manhattanville led the shot total in the first half recording three on target, all of which were turned away by Adam Warner, who was perfect on the day for the Brewers, recording four saves in the shutout performance.

"Our energy level in the second half was also good but some of our decision making on the ball was not," exclaimed Miller. "With a bit more luck we could have gone on to tie and win the game … the important thing is that the performance was a vast improvement from Sunday and if we keep playing at this level we should be fine."

Manhattanville has now dropped two in a row and will look to end that streak on Saturday as they kick-off against Marywood at 3:30 PM.
