GREENWICH, Conn. – Led by a first-place finish from sophomore
Chandler Longfellow (Wiscasset, Maine/Wiscasset), the Manhattanville College men's golf team picked up a dual match victory over neighboring Purchase College by the score of 320 to 340 on Wednesday afternoon at Tamarack Country Club.
The Valiants took four of the first five spots on the leaderboard to earn the victory over the Panthers in the first dual match between the two schools.
Longfellow was the top finisher for either side, carding a round of 78 on the par-70 course for his second-lowest round of the season. Junior
Tanner Hicks (Calgary, Alberta/Edge School) finished two shots back with an 80 that earned him a second-place finish.
Senior
John Maiolo (Ridgefield, Conn./Ridgefield) and sophomore
Joseph Mullarkey (Cancun, Mexico/International American School of Cancun) tied with Purchase's Joe Troop for third place, with all three golfers finishing at 81 to earn a spot in the top-five. Sophomore
Jason Siegel (Colorado Springs, Colo./Discovery Canyon) tied for sixth place with a round of 83 in his first action of the 2015-16 season as well for the Valiants.
Manhattanville will close out the fall portion of its 2015-16 schedule this weekend at the NYU Invitational, beginning on Saturday at the Forest Hill Field Club in Bloomfield, N.J.
