MADISON, N.J.- The Manhattanville women's basketball team struggled to get much going against #3/4 FDU-Florham on Wednesday night, falling to the Devils by a final score of 96-55 in Freedom Conference play.

For Manhattanville (10-12, 1-10 Freedom), junior Ashley Raaf (Rockaway Beach, N.Y./Christ The King) led the way, finishing with a team-high 13 points. Senior Alyson Caiazzo (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Saviour) tallied nine points and 12 rebounds while classmate Bri Pabon (Newington, Conn./Newington) and sophomore Sarah Kelley (Ewing, N.J./Ewing) each chipped in nine points. The Valiants turned the ball over 24 times against #3/4 FDU-Florham (21-1, 10-1 Freedom), translating into 27 points for the Devils.

FDU had five players finish in double-figures, including a game-high 24 points and 12 rebounds from Shalette Brown. Leigh Ann Lively contributed 17 points for the Devils, knocking down five three-pointers in the contest. The Devils also outscored the Valiants in the paint by a final tally of 48-28.

The Devils jumped out early on Manhattanville, scoring the first seven points of the game after three minutes of play. The Valiants struggled to keep the potent offense of FDU silent, as the Devils continued to pour it on for the remainder of the contest. After the first half of play, FDU controlled a 53-26 lead over Manhattanville.

Manhattanville was unable to chip away at its 27-point halftime deficit for the remainder of the game. The Devils kept getting good looks at the basket, shooting 46.3 percent (38-82) from the floor. The up-tempo offense from FDU proved to be too much for the Valiants to handle, as the Devils eventually took down Manhattanville by a final score of 96-55 in Freedom Conference play.

The Valiants will take on #25 Eastern at home at 1 p.m. on Saturday. Caiazzo will be honored for Senior Day before the start of the contest. Live stats can be accessed via GoValiants.com.
