ST. DAVIDS, Pa. – The Manhattanville men's lacrosse team dropped to 0-2 in Freedom Conference play after falling to the first-place Eastern Eagles by a final score of 15-4 on Saturday afternoon at Eagles Field.
The Eagles started out strong and distributed the ball well amongst the team, resulting in a 9-0 Eastern lead at halftime with all nine goals being scored by eight different players. Eastern senior Eric Waibel led all scorers on the day, finishing with 3 goals and 2 assists.
The Valiants were able to score four goals in the second half, starting with sophomore
Colin Morrissey (Shelton, Conn./St. Joseph)'s eighth goal of the season at the 7:54 mark of the third quarter. Fellow sophomore
Andrew Murray (Yonkers, N.Y./Archbishop Stepinac) extended his scoring streak to nine games, assisting on Morrissey's goal and scoring one of his own in the fourth quarter.

Christian Flores (Avon, Conn./Avon) also scored his seventh goal of the season on Saturday afternoon. Sophomore
Zach Hoffman (Loudonville, N.Y./LaSalle Institute) was busy in goal, facing 39 shots on the afternoon, 23 of which found their way on goal.
The loss keeps the Valiants winless in conference play and now drops their record to 4-6 overall. The team will look to regroup quickly as they have another Freedom Conference matchup on Wednesday, when they host FDU-Florham at GoValiants.com Field at 7:00 p.m.
