PURCHASE, N.Y. - Manhattanville College scored two goals in the final 48 seconds of the game, including a highlight-reel game-winner from freshman
Kat Reilly (Holbrook, N.Y./Sachem North) with 28.4 seconds left, as the Valiant women's lacrosse team came back to defeat SUNY Old Westbury, 17-16, in a non-conference thriller on Wednesday afternoon at GoValiants.com Field.
Down by a goal with 4:34 to go, junior
Lauren Cassidy (Oceanside, N.Y./Oceanside) made two huge saves to keep it a 16-15 game and give the Valiants a chance. In the final minute, the Valiants forced a bad clear for Old Westbury that was picked up by junior
Olivia Drew (York, Maine/York) and the home team went right to goal, with sophomore
Katie Zambrotta (North Babylon, N.Y./North Babylon) posting up in front and finding the net with 47.6 seconds remaining.
Reilly controlled the ensuing draw and again went right to the cage. The freshman fired a shot off the crossbar and straight into the air, and Reilly leapt high above the defense and swatted the ball into the net for the game-winning score, marking the seventh and final lead change of the afternoon.
Reilly finished the game with four goals, four draw controls and five ground balls for Manhattanville (3-1), which has won three straight games for the first time since 2011. Sophomore

Christina Leva (Hawthorne, N.Y./Westlake) knotted the score again at the 6:01 mark and then looked to put Manhattanville ahead 36 seconds later, only to have the goal called off due to an illegal stick.
