CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Five different Valiants had at least three points as the Manhattanville College women's lacrosse team picked up its second MAC Freedom victory of the season with a dominating 18-5 win over DeSales University on Thursday afternoon.

Manhattanville (8-4, 2-1 MAC Freedom) had complete control of the game from the opening whistle, scoring the first six goals on the way to the victory. The Valiants ended the afternoon with a 35-22 edge in shots over DeSales (4-9, 0-3 MAC Freedom).

Multiple Valiants performed well on the offensive side of the ball, led by sophomore Kat Reilly (Holbrook, N.Y./Sachem North), who scored a game-high five goals and added an assist, and junior Carly Weiss (Mahopac, N.Y./Mahopac), who continued to rack up the assists with four to go with two goals. Junior Christina Leva (Hawthorne, N.Y./Westlake) chipped in a career-high five points on three goals and two assists, while senior Jenna Nance (Glendale, Calif./Glendale) added three goals as well.

Defensively, freshman Bella Marchiselli (Williston Park, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy Academy) picked up her fifth win of the year by turning aside 11 shots, while senior Olivia Drew (York, Maine/York) had another excellent effort with four caused turnovers, four draw controls and two ground balls in addition to an assist.

The Valiants struck for the first six goals of the contest, beginning with goals from seniors Sarah Dalsey (Ocean City, N.J./Ocean City) and AnnaMarie Nardone (Thornwood, N.Y./Westlake) just 19 seconds apart, as five different players found the net to give the visitors a 6-0 lead 8:53 into the game. The visitors added four more after DeSales got on the board to take a 10-2 lead into halftime.

Manhattanville came out of the break and scored the first eight goals of the second half to put the game away. Leva scored all three of her goals and added an assist during the run, as she bookended the Valiant scoring with goals 17:29 apart.

Manhattanville, which settles into third place in the conference standings with the win, will face another key conference clash on Wednesday when the Valiants host Eastern University at GoValiants.com Field beginning at 7 p.m.
