Karly Kapur (Sparta, N.J./N.J. Colonials) recorded her first career hat trick, leading a seven-goal, nineteen-point effort, as the Manhattanville College women's hockey team won its third straight United Collegiate Hockey Conference game Friday night, beating Chatham University 7-2.
Kapur scored one goal in each period, while sophomore

Nicole Mensi (Mamaroneck, N.Y./Northwood School), freshman
Tianna Lopes (West Vancouver, British Columbia/Pacific Steelers), and senior
Jennifer Machin (Brunswick, Maine/Portland Jr. Pirates) each added a goal for Manhattanville (6-5-1, 3-2-1 UCHC).
Pellowitz struck first, at 11:34 of the opening period, going five-hole on Cougars' goalie Sydney Isbell off a feed from senior
Sarah Sinning (Southold, N.Y./National Sports Academy). Kapur made it 2-0 Valiants 3:45 later after an accurate lead pass off the boards from sophomore
Brayden James (Denton, Texas/Dallas Stars Elite) created a one-on-one opportunity for Kapur, who weaved around a Chatham defenseman and buried one top shelf.
After a Manhattanville penalty at the end of the first period, Kirajean Frost struck for Chatham (3-9-2, 0-7-0 UCHC) on the power play :58 into the second period. Almost seven minutes later, Kapur struck again, re-directing a shot through traffic off an initial shot attempt by sophomore
Ashley Lougheed (Vancouver, B.C./Pacific Steelers). Mensi, the reigning UCHC and MAC Player of the Week, took a feed in the slot from sophomore
Janet Xu (Edmonton, Alta./Ontario Hockey Academy) and put a wrist shot by Isbell for her team-leading 10
th goal of the season. Lopes added to Manhatanville's lead with 12 seconds left in the period with her first collegiate goal off a feed from Mensi.
At 3:46 of the third period, Machin made it 6-1 after tipping an initial shot attempt from Pellowitz. After Kasandra Petersen made it 6-2 at 9:37, Kapur completed the hat trick, finding room in front of Isbell and knocking home the rebound after Isbell made the initial save on a shot from classmate

Manhattanville finished with a 37-28 shot advantage; junior goalie
Rose Pijaca (Worcester, Mass./Worcester Academy) made 26 saves for the Valiants, her fourth 20 save effort in her last five starts.
The two teams are back in action at Playland Ice Casino again tomorrow afternoon, with puck drop scheduled for 3:00 pm.
