Box Score THROGGS NECK, N.Y. – Another offensive explosion for the Manhattanville College women's soccer team helped lead the Valiants to an 11-1 triumph over Skyline Conference foe Maritime College this afternoon, Saturday, Oct. 12.

Joining in on the scoring parade was sophomore
Amaya Gonzalez (Buena Park, Calif./Western), as the forward registered her second-career hat-trick with three goals on four on-target attempts. Fellow sophomores
Ashley Hayes (Springfield, Ore./Thurston) and

Bella Beltrami (Monroe, N.Y./Monroe-Woodbury) (1) all recorded assists. The highlight of the day, however, came off the boot of sophomore
Steph Shalhoub (Yorktown, N.Y./Lakeland). Normally a keeper, Shalhoub made her second-career appearance as a midfielder and was able to record her first-career goal on a pair of shots.
Action began when Hayes scored her first in the 15th, assisted by Pelaez, to make it 1-0 early. Thirty-eight seconds later, Pacheco scored an unassisted goal to make it 2-0. Less the five minutes had gone before Gonzalez notched her first of the game in the 20th, assisted by Pacheco. Hayes (35') and Gonzalez (44') each scored once more prior to the end of the first half – with one score from Maritime sandwiched in between the Valiants' third and fourth goals – and Manhattanville led 5-1 after 45 minutes of play.
The Valiants scored six more times before the end of the match as they recorded their second-highest goal total of the season. Pacheco started it off in the 48th, assisted by Davis, to make it 6-1, followed just over three minutes later by Gonzalez – making it a hat-trick – to put the road team up 7-1. Sullivan scored her first next in the 58th and 29 seconds later, Aracena scored her team-leading goal, assisted by Beltrami, to make it 9-1 in the 59th. Shalhoub finally got in on the action in the 72nd, thanks to an assist from Pacheco, to make it 10-1 before Sullivan closed out the scoring in the 86th – from Davis – to make it 11-1.
Remaining unbeaten in Skyline play, the Valiants will return to the pitch next for another conference contest on the road. Manhattanville travels to Old Westbury, N.Y., this Wednesday, Oct. 16, at 3:30 p.m. to face the College at Old Westbury. The teams are knotted 2-2 in four all-time meetings, though they have not faced off since 2014.
