Box Score TEANECK, N.J. -- The Manhattanville College men's soccer team opened Skyline Conference play with a 6-2 victory over Yeshiva University on the road on Sunday, Sept. 22. The win was the team's third-straight.
Manhattanville (4-2-1, Skyline 1-0) took control early in the game. The Valiants had a two-goal advantage over Yeshiva (2-5-1, Skyline 0-4-1) by the 11th minute thanks to goals from junior Pablo Bravo Olle (Barcelona, Spain/LFG Bon Soleil) and freshman Eli Pardo (Norwalk, Conn./Brien McMahon). Manhattanville took its two-goal lead into halftime.
The Maccabees battled back to open the second half of play. They recorded a goal in the 51st minute to cut the lead to one. The one-goal lead did not last long. The Valiants quickly responded with a spree of four goals in seven minutes. The run started with a goal in the 52nd minute by junior defender Marius Nicolaysen (Oslo, Norway/Kongshavn VGS) on a penalty kick, it continued with two more goals from Bravo Olle in the 53rd and 56th minutes and the final goal was tallied by sophomore Kendall Davis (Bound Brook, N.J./Immaculata) in the 59th minute. Yeshiva recorded one more goal before the game was through to make the final score 6-2.
Several Valiants had outstanding statistical performances. Two who stood out were Bravo Olle who finished the game with three goals, a hat-trick, and sophomore midfielder Nico Diaz (Miami, Fla./Miami Palmetto) recorded three assists during the offensive outburst.
Manhattanville returns to action Wednesday, Sept. 25 for a Skyline matchup against Mount Saint Mary College at 7:00 P.M. on GoValiants.com Field. The Valiants will look to extend their win streak to four.
