UTICA, N.Y. – The Manhattanville men's hockey team traveled to Utica, N.Y., Wednesday March 31, to take on the number one seed, Utica College in the United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) quarterfinals. The Valiants (0-4) fell to the Pioneers (8-1) by a score of 9-0 in what would be their final game of the season.
 
Manhattanville made it through the first period unscathed. Despite being outshot 17-2, The Valiants were able to get through the first 20 minutes with the score tied at 0-0. The Pioneer offense came alive in the second period. They tallied five goals to take a 5-0 lead headed into the second intermission. They then scored four more goals in the third to make the final score 9-0.
 
In a difficult season, marred with more challenges than in any year previous, Manhattanville persevered and made it to postseason play. The Valiants will return next season with most of their young roster remaining.
