FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – The Manhattanville College women's lacrosse team fell to Farmingdale College State in the Skyline Conference Semifinals, Wednesday, April 28. Five different Valiants (2-5) scored two goals in the 19-12 loss and junior midfielder Lara Keenan (Montgomery, N.Y./Valley Central) and junior attacker Brialee Logue (Hampton, N.H./Winnacunnet) led the team with three points each.
 
The Rams (6-0) took the lead quickly in the first half, scoring three goals in the first two minutes of play to take the early advantage. Manhattanville answered with a goal from Keenan, but Farmingdale responded with two goals of their own to extend the lead to 5-1. The momentum then began to shift. The Valiants scored four of the next five goals to cut the lead to one. The two teams then traded blows to close the half and junior defender Caity Bianchi (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City) scored with nine seconds remaining to make the score 11-9 at the midway point.
 
Farmingdale once again came out firing to start the half. They scored four-straight goals in the first 16 minutes of play and led by a score of 15-9 with 14:02 remaining in the game. The six-goal deficit was not enough for the Valiants to overcome, as they were only able to notch three second half goals. Sophomore goalie Britney Sirota (Seaford, N.Y./Seaford) finished with 13 saves in the loss.
 
The Crimson and White will look to return to postseason play next season with many of their top contributors coming back.
