PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Manhattanville College women's tennis team saw their season come to a close, Thursday, May 6, against Farmingdale State College in the Skyline Conference Semi Finals. The 5-3 loss snapped a four-match winning streak for the Valiants, who finished the season with a 4-2 record.
Manhattanville played every match with only four team members competing this season and the first round of the postseason was no different. The Crimson and White split the two doubles matches they played in and picked up two wins at singles.
At doubles, graduate student
Maya Dziurda (Warsaw, Poland/Liceum Mikolaja Kopernika) and junior
Kelsey Ulzheimer (Franklin Square, N.Y./H. Frank Carey) picked up an 8-3 win in the second slot. At singles, junior
Renay Charley (Redondo Beach, Calif./Redondo Union) won 6-3, 6-4 in the first position and Ulzheimer won 6-3, 6-1 in the third slot.
The Valiants will look to make a return next season with a full roster and their core from this season still intact.
