Men's Tennis Loses Skyline Championship in Dramatic Fashion

PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Manhattanville College men's tennis team saw their season come to an end in the Skyline Conference Championship match against Farmingdale State College, Sunday, May 9. The Valiants (5-2) finished with two doubles win and two singles wins in the 5-4 loss.

At doubles, Manhattanville earned victories at second and third positions. Sophomore Luis Gonzalez (Norwalk, Conn./Brien McMahon) and junior Dylan Crowley (Pelham, N.Y./Pelham Memorial) won 8-6 at second doubles and senior Alex Fleischman (Riverside, Conn./King) paired with freshman Shiel Loganadan (New York, N.Y./Mary McDowell Friends) won 8-2 at third doubles.

The singles matches were a battle. Three of the six matches saw a third set. At fourth singles, Crowley won 3-6, 7-5, 6-0 and at fifth singles 6-4, 7-6 (7-5). The final set of the first singles match was moved indoors due to rain and the match was on the line with both team tied at four.
