Manhattanville Women's Soccer Bested By New Paltz

NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – Wrapping up their non-conference schedule for the season, the Manhattanville College women's soccer team was defeated by SUNY New Paltz on Saturday afternoon. The 7-1 loss moves the Valiants' record through five games to 2-2-1.

Outshooting the Valiants 21-8 during the contest, the Hawks got out to a 3-1 lead at the half before netting four more goals over the final 45 minutes.

After New Paltz opened up the scoring with a pair of goals separated by 27 seconds in the 2nd minute of regulation, Ashley Hayes (Springfield, Ore./Thurston) responded with her third goal of the season off a pass from Natalie Aracena (Bronx, N.Y./Riverdale Kingsbride Academy).

Stephanie Shalhoub played a majority of the game in net for Manhattanville, making eight saves across 71-plus minutes of action in her first appearance of the season.
