YONKERS, N.Y. – The Manhattanville College men's soccer team concluded their week on Saturday afternoon, battling to a scoreless draw at Sarah Lawrence. The 0-0 decision makes the Valiants 7-4-3 overall on the year and 5-1-2 in the Skyline Conference.
The Valiants fired 10 shots on goal in the contest as part of their 17 total shots, but Kian Silva and the Gryphons defensive unit was able to turn away each ball headed their direction.
Luis Granados (Pasadena, Calif./St. Francis) was equally up to task for Manhattanville, making three saves to hold Sarah Lawrence scoreless.
Eli Pardo (Norwalk, Conn./Brien McMahon) led the Valiants' offensive effort with five shots, four of which were on target. Six other Valiants ended the night with a shot on goal, but despite outshooting Sarah Lawrence 17-11, none were able to find the back of the net.
Kelvin Osorio (Long Island, N.Y./Sachem North),
Jostyn Blanco (Norwalk, CT/Brien Mcmahon High School) and
Kendall Davis (Atlanta, Georgia/Immaculata) each had multiple shots on the day, with each putting one on net.
The Valiants have now gone three straight games without a goal, going 0-1-2 in that stretch.
Corner kicks were even at three apiece in the contest. Granados totaled two of his three saves in the first half, while the Valiants forced Sarah Lawrence to make five saves in each half.
