Men's Soccer Closes Out Road Schedule With Shutout Win Versus Old Westbury

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – The Manhattanville College men's soccer team was victorious in their final road game of the regular season, defeating Old Westbury by a final of 3-0. The Valiants will enter the final week of play with an 8-4-4 overall record and a 6-1-3 mark in the Skyline, currently atop the conference standings.

Manhattanville outshot the Panthers 17-4 on the day. While the Valiants would only put five shots on net, the sustained offensive pressure paid off with three goals. Manhattanville first got on the board in the 39th minute as Michael Mezzina (Pompton Lakes, N.J./Morris Catholic) converted on a free kick opportunity to fire a shot past James Perciballi. Mezzina's fourth goal of the season would give the Valiants a 1-0 lead into the half.

The Valiants added a pair of insurance tallies in the second half to preserve their lead. Three minutes after the second half kickoff, Eli Pardo (Norwalk, Conn./Brien McMahon) scored for the second straight game, finishing a feed from Gabriel Jefferies (Tunbridge Wells, U.K./Ridge (N.J.)) that put the Vals up 2-0. In the 58th minute, Kendall Davis (Atlanta, Georgia/Immaculata) added his fourth of the season on Matt Rabadi's (Hopewell Junction, N.Y./John Jay Senior) assist to increase Manhattanville's lead to three goals. That would be where the advantage would remain the rest of the way, ending in a final score of 3-0.

The Panthers would register just one shot on net as part of their four total shots, a kick in the 52nd minute by Jessi Vaquez that was turned away by Luis Granados (Pasadena, Calif./St. Francis). The junior goalkeeper has now earned six shutouts on the season, moving into third all-time in program history with 15 career clean sheets.

All six corner kicks on the day were earned by the Valiants.
