Men's Lacrosse Toppled in Home Finale Against Farmingdale

PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Manhattanville College men's lacrosse team concluded their home schedule on Tuesday evening. Despite a hat trick by Nick Cornelia (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Lindenhurst) and a six goal fourth quarter, the Valiants were unable to overcome a 13-0 Farmingdale State run, falling to the Rams by a final of 19-8. With the loss, the Valiants fall to 3-11 on the season and 2-4 in Skyline Conference play.

Cornelia led the offense with his three goal performance, his fourth hat trick of the season. The Rams fired 21 shots out of the halftime break, scoring nine unanswered goals to pull ahead 16-2 entering the final 15 minutes of play. Farmingdale kept the foot on the gas, scoring three more to open up the fourth quarter to make it 13 consecutive goals across three periods. Despite trailing, the Valiants did not go away quietly, scoring the final six goals of the game to close out the night. Dillon Sanzari (Waterbury, Conn./Holy Cross (H.S.)) got the rally started with 8:27 to go off a pass from Patrick Magliocchino (Thornwood, N.Y./Archbishop Stepinac). Melchi Agyapong (Bronx, N.Y./Cardinal Hayes) then netted his second of the year 39 seconds later before Cornelia notched his second of the night with the man advantage with 6:14 to go.
