NEWBURGH, N.Y. – Hitting the links for the first time this season, the Manhattanville men's golf team fell to their conference competitor, Mount Saint Mary, 324-319.

The Valiants were led by
Ryan Moran (Syosset, N.Y./Syosset High School), the 2021 Skyline Conference Golf Scholar-Athlete of the Year, and Manhattanville newcomer,
Corey Popowcer (), who tied for second place with a seven-over par 77, to finish off the day.

Mount Saint Mary's individual winner, Patrick Shea secured a victory with two shots under the Manhattanville leaders, 75 (+5).Â

Troy Crosson (Hatfield, Pa./Pennridge) carded an 83 (+13) to finish in seventh place and
Connor Hill (Wilmington, Mass./Arlington Catholic) hit for an 87 (+17) to finish in eighth place.Â

John Sacco (Manhattan, N.Y. /Summit School) finished the day with an 89 (+19) for the Valiants, ending in a tie with MSC's Owen Gallagher for tenth place overall. Â

Lastly,
Josh Fletcher (Calgary, Alb./Central Memorial) completed the course with a 101 (+31) to round out the roster.Â

Following the season opening loss, Manhattanville will head back to the Powelton Club in Newburgh on Sep. 9 for the MSMC Skyline Season Opener.
