How We Got Here

After ending the regular season with four straight victories, the Valiants improved to 7-0-4 overall in Skyline play which secured the No. 1 seed for the Skyline Conference Championship Tournament for a third straight year.

Manhattanville has been led all season long by rookie midfielder, Manuel Morales (Madrid, Spain/International College Spain) who totaled six goals on 21 shots. The depth of the Valiants would be felt as 13 others would contribute offensively throughout the season. Matt Rabadi (Hopewell Junction, N.Y./John Jay) would tally three goals and three assists, while Trevor Henderson (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa), Arjan Delija (Irvington, N.Y./Irvington), Sebastian Testa (Clermont, Fla./East Ridge), and Keanu Stingone (Kew Gardens, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy) would each record a pair of goals. Michael Mezzina (Pompton Lakes, N.J./Morris Catholic), Joseph Kresse (Goshen, NY/Goshen High School), Alex Bacchiocchi (Groton, Conn./Fitch), Jostyn Blanco (Norwalk, CT/Brien Mcmahon High School), Janghyun Kim (Seoul, South Korea/Global Vision Christian School), Alec Pineda (Port Chester, N.Y./Port Chester), Nico Del Vescovo (Flanders, N.J./Mount Olive), and Cole Weiner (Saint James, N.Y./Smithtown H.S. East) would each find the back of the net once during their 16-game season.

The Valiants also feature Luis Granados (Pasadena, Calif./St. Francis) who is one of the best goalkeepers in the Skyline Conference. He finished fourth overall with a 1.08 goals-against average, and five total shutouts on the season. He would rank third with 61 total saves and sit in fifth place with saves per game.

The Dolphins secured the fifth seed after going 6-2-3 in conference competition and 8-4-4 overall on the season. Mount Saint Vincent advanced to the semifinals round after battling Merchant Marine on Sunday afternoon to a 1-1 draw through regulation and both overtime periods. They would then knock off the No. 4 Mariners in an 8-7 penalty kick shootout.

While Manhattanville boasts depth, Mount Saint Vincent features a pair of the conference's best in Ian Lamas and Joel Luna. Lamas finishes in the top six for points, shots, shots on goal, goals, and game-winning goals within all of Skyline men's soccer. In net for the Dolphins, Luna has the best goals-against average in the conference with .645, and 67 total saves. He also has the second most shutouts on the season with five total.
