With the result, the Valiants reside at 2-1-0 in both overall and conference play.

Despite scoring once, the Knights held firm control of the game, firing 27 shots in the period compared to three from the Valiants.

Continuing their momentum, the Knights would ripple the net twice more from Alex Dameski and Carter Diceman before the Valiants tallied a consolation goal, as Manhattanville was able to capitalize with on the man advantage, Nicholas Rogers (Broad Channel, N.Y./Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks (NA3HL)) finished off a play from Popowcer and Justin Fernet (Sherbrooke, Quebec/Taft School), but Bryce Howard was able to restore the five goal disparity for Geneseo, having the buzzer sound with a Knights win 7-2.

Sebastian Woods (Limehouse, Ontario, Canada/Utica Jr. Comets (NCDC)) would take the loss in net for the Valiants, as he produced 38 saves in the 44:29 minutes spent between the pipes. He was relieved by Tripp Clarke (Cazenovia, N.Y./Northern Cyclones (USPHL Premier)), who tallied seven saves in the 15:31 played in the crease.

Manhattanville was outshot 52-22 in the loss. Fernet led the attack with eight shots, as Lucas Baksay (Fairfield, Conn./Connecticut Roughriders (EHL)) followed suit with five.
