DANBURY, Conn. – Adding another accolade to one of the best seasons by a hitter in program history,
Loren Hernandez (Toa Baja, Puerto Rico/American Military Academy) of the Manhattanville University women's volleyball team was selected to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) 2024 Division III All-ECAC Second Team.
Hernandez is the fourth player in program history to earn an All-ECAC regional recognition, the first since
Vianca Vital (Carolina, Puerto Rico/Perpetuo Socorro) and Austen Brauer both earn appointment on the All-ECAC Second Team in 2019.
The junior outside hitter has had a 2024 to remember, highlighted with her being selected as the Skyline Conference Player of the Year, the third Valiant to ever earn Conference Player of the Year recognition. Hernandez was also named the Skyline Conference Championship Most Outstanding Player and was amongst four Valiants named to the CSC Academic All-District® women's volleyball team, advancing to the national All-America® ballot thanks to her on-court efforts.
Hernandez earned 390 kills in her junior campaign, the second-highest single-season total in program history behind only Brauer's 403 mark from the 2019 season. In addition to her new benchmark set in putaways, Hernandez' 53 aces, 290 digs, 15 assists and 444.0 points were all new personal-highs. The point total was also right on Brauer's heels for the single-season record, just two shy from the Valiant great's milestone. Hernandez notched 14 double-doubles throughout the campaign which saw Manhattanville capture the Skyline Conference title for a third-straight year and fourth time in program history.
