The Dutchmen would light the lamp during a penalty kill, as they added to their lead with the man disadvantage when Mason Proskin sounded the horn with just under three minutes remaining in the period. Both teams would get booked for three penalties each, as they both killed all four powerplay opportunities, to keep the contest in the Dutchmen's favor 2-0.
In the third period, the Valiants power play unit was finally able to strike, as Johno Hoins (Telluride, Colo./The Frederick Gunn School) sounded the horn exactly one minute into the final period of play, with Raymond Speerbrecker (Revelstoke, British Columbia, Canada/Revelstoke Grizzlies (KIJHL)) and Caden Eaton (Indian River, Mich./Cornwall Colts (CCHL)) each being credited with the assist, to have Manhattanville sit within one goal of tying the contest up. The Valiants would continue to press in the offensive zone, searching for the tying goal as they fired off 15 shots in the final twenty minutes. Jadon Lee would lock down his respective crease saving all attempts he faced in the period. The Dutchmen would tack on another to their lead with 16:59 elapsed in the period, Harris Blackwood scored an unassisted goal to push the lead further away from the Valiants. Tosto would net his brace on an empty-net goal with a few ticks left on the clock to have the final score sit at 4-1.
Sebastian Woods (Limehouse, Ontario, Canada/Utica Jr. Comets (NCDC)) was tabbed with the loss between the pipes for the Valiants, as he totaled 29 saves on 32 shots for a .906 save percentage in the contest.
The Dutchmen held the advantage in the faceoffs department, with a 38-22 disparity over their counterparts. Lane Paddison (100 Mile House, Canada/Canmore Eagles (AJHL)) and Speerbrecker paced the Valiants with seven faceoff wins each.
