PURCHASE, N.Y. — For the second week in a row and third time this season, Manhattanville's own AJ Lucas (Beacon, N.Y./Beacon) has been named the Skyline Conference Defensive Player of the Week. After a highly competitive and a remarkable battle throughout conference play thus far, Lucas has held a strong base in goal, leading the Valiants to back-to-back conference shutouts.
Last week the Valiants ventured deeper into conference play with games against Sarah Lawrence College and St. Joseph's Brooklyn, earning remarkable conference wins from shutouts by the help of Lucas.
Against Sarah Lawrence, he sealed the 5-0 win with a goals against average of 1.57 with three saves off three total shots on goal, and holding to seven shots total. That weekend against St. Joseph's Brooklyn he completed the 9-0 victory with a goals against average of 1.47 with no shots, saves, or shots on goal.
The Valiants return to the field this Saturday October 18th, at 3 PM for Senior Day against Maritime College on GoValiants.com Field.
