SCRANTON, PA – Manhattanville field hockey wraps up the 2025 campaign 6-13 with the 4-1 loss at top-seeded Marywood in the Atlantic East Conference Semifinals on Saturday afternoon at Marywood Grass Field.

FIRST HALF – MARYWOOD 2, MANHATTANVILLE 0

Hannah Doherty (Clarkstown, N.Y./Clarkstown South) marked up the stat sheets early on with six saves. The defensive line shut down seven out of eight first-half corners. The Valiants got two shots off, one on goal, from Sabina Cosmo (Harrison, N.Y./Harrison) in two corners.

The Pacers grabbed its first goal on a corner conversion after Doherty stopped the initial tip, Whitney Berge was there to finish the play. Lany Straub scored the second goal on a cross-cage pass from Dariane Jones to go into halftime up two. Marywood outshot Manhattanville 15-2 in the first 30 minutes.

SECOND HALF – MARYWOOD 4, MANHATTANVILLE 1

Cosmo kept the Pacers from adding to the lead with a defensive save to start the second half. Shannon Keena (Pearl River, N.Y./Pearl River) found space in the circle after bringing the ball down the right side to set up the cross-cage pass to Lulu LePage (Swansea, Mass./Elmira College) to cut the deficit to one.

The Pacers answered LePage's goal on a corner with a rocket to the back corner from Brooke Barwick, pushing the score out 3-1 Marywood with four minutes remaining in the third.

The final goal for the top seed was scored by Dariane Jones with under 50 seconds remaining in the game, solidifying their trip back to the AEC championship.

Doherty racked up a career-high 18 saves, with her defense shutting down 15-of-17 corners and only allowing conversions on four-of-32 shots.

Top-seeded Marywood will continue its season next Saturday, Nov 8, against the winner of the No. 3 Immaculata @ No. 2 Neumann matchup today.
