PURCHASE, N.Y. – Olivia Cimorelli (West Deptford, N.J./The Hill School / Ironbound Elite) of the Manhattanville University women's hockey team has been named United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) Women's Goaltender of the Week, for the week ending Nov. 23, as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.
Cimorelli steered the Valiants to the team's first two wins of the season, making 38 saves against Chatham in the weekend series. The sophomore tender picked up her first win of the year against the Cougars with 17 saves on Friday, allowing just one goal in the victory. Cimorelli went on to make 21 more stops in Saturday's win, only allowing one tally. Through six games, Cimorelli holds a 3.03 goals-against average to open the year with a .915 save percentage.
Cimorelli and the Valiants return to the ice this weekend for the Codfish Bowl, taking on host UMass Boston on Saturday at 1 p.m.
