GREENWOOD, Ind. – College Sports Communicators (CSC) release the 2025 Academic All-District
® Women's Soccer Team over the holiday break with four members of the Manhattanville University women's soccer team earning a spot.
Seniors
Macey Girard (Branford, Conn./Branford) and
Olivia Watson (Walden, N.Y./Valley Central) were joined by the sophomore tandem of
Jennay Amaral (Washingtonville, N.Y./Washingtonville) and
Johanna Gibson (Brooklyn, N.Y./Edward R Murrow) as Manhattanville's honorees on the women's team this year. Girard is making her third-straight CSC Academic All-District recognition with this year's selection, while Watson has been honored for a second year in a row. Amaral and Gibson debut on the team in their first seasons of eligibility.
Selection to this year's Academic All-District® Team was open to student-athletes with both athletic and academic standing of sophomore or greater. Candidates needed to hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or above while either playing in 90 percent of the team's contests or starting in 66 of the team's matches during the season.
Amaral played in all 17 games as part of Manhattanville's midfield, starting in 16 contests. The sophomore radiologic technology major finished the season with five points on a pair of goals and an assist, scoring in Skyline Conference tilts with Maritime and Old Westbury while collecting the helper against Saint Joseph's Brooklyn. Amaral led all players on the Valiants in minutes player, taking to the pitch for 1,188 minutes over the season. She played a full 90 minutes in six contests in 2025.
Gibson appeared in 16 games in her sophomore season with four starts. The political science major forward served as one of the Valiants' top scoring threats, finishing tied for second on the team with five goals. She began her season on a heater, scoring three times across her first four games against New Jersey City, Brooklyn and Yeshiva. Later in the year, Gibson found the back of the net in Skyline matches versus Purchase and Farmingdale.
Girard battled through injury over the course of her senior season, ultimately making 13 starts in the cage for Manhattanville. A psychology and sport studies double major, Girard went 5-8-0 in net with a 2.18 goals-against average and a .721 save percentage. She finished the year with a pair of shutouts against Skyline rivals Maritime and Old Westbury and made a season-high 12 stops in October against Mount Saint Vincent. Girard became just the eighth keeper in program history to make 300 saves in a Valiant kit, reaching the milestone in her final game on Oct. 29 against Old Westbury.
Watson joined Amaral on the field for all 17 games of her senior season, making 12 starts as a mainstay between Manhattanville's midfield and backline. The sport studies major played a career-high 1,142 minutes during the season, the third most on the Valiant roster. Thanks to her play, the Valiants held opponents to 2.00 goals per game in 2025. Watson played a full 90 in six games, including three straight to open the year.
