THROGGS NECK, N.Y. – The Manhattanville University women's lacrosse team saw its 2025 campaign draw to a close on Tuesday evening with the Valiants' Skyline Conference Championship First Round loss at Maritime. The 18-1 loss brings Manhattanville's final record on the season to 5-10.
The third-seeded Privateers scored all five goals of the first quarter and took control of the contest with seven more consecutive tallies across the second to go up 12-0.
Ashley Glass (Mahopac, N.Y./Lakeland) put up the Valiants' lone goal in the final minutes of the half, the 21
st of her rookie campaign, on
Jocelyn Mazo's (Mamaroneck, N.Y./Mamaroneck) sixth assist of the season.
Maritime added four more goals in the third before netting a final pair in the fourth.
Megan McDonald (Pearl River, N.Y./Pearl River) did all she could as the rookie netminder faced a season-high 46 shots. McDonald made 12 saves, finishing her first year as a Valiant with 194 saves and an even 13.00 goals against average.
McDonald added two ground balls alongside her saves, a total matched by
Mariah Stephens (Mission Viejo, Calif./Mission Viejo). Stephens also accounted for both of the Valiants' caused turnovers with a pair of draw controls.
Alexa Bennett (Sparrowbush, N.Y./Port Jervis Senior) had a team-high four draw controls to close out the year.
Maritime advances to the Skyline Semifinals to take on No. 2 Farmingdale on Thursday at 4 p.m.
