PURCHASE, N.Y. — Manhattanville University's women's volleyball team had two players selected as top players this past week in the Skyline Conference Weekly Report Monday afternoon.
Player of the Week-
Loren Hernandez (Toa Baja, Puerto Rico/American Military Academy) remains a heavy resource for the Valiants this 2025 season. Over the past week the team has faced three teams, with Hernandez showcasing her reliability on the court for the Valiants.
Facing Farmingdale State she recorded 22 kills, 54 total attacks, two assists, one service ace, 16 digs for a total of 23 points in the match. Later that week the team traveled for the Union College Tri-Match. There facing Union she tallied 14 kills, 45 total attacks, three assists, one service ace, seven digs, and a total of 15.5 points before moving to face Nazareth. Against the Golden Flyers she secured eight kills, 20 total attacks, two service aces, eight digs, and a total of ten points.
Hernandez has proven herself an undeniable resource to her team, now sitting with a season total of 167 kills, 13 assists, 463 total attacks, 16 service aces, 126 digs, for a total of 186 points with a points per set average of 3.86.
Libero of the Week-
Kayla Jennings (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Lakeland) has led the way for the Valiants defensively. She sits overall with 36 assists, 23 service aces, 241 digs, and 181.5 points averaging .77 points a set. Over the past week, she has been instrumental in the Valiants defense.
Against Farmingdale State, she gathered three assists, one service ace, and 23 digs to secure the 3-1 victory. Later in the week at the Union College Tri-Match, she secured three assists, one service ace, and 31 digs against Union and against Nazareth, she tallied two assists, an impressive six service aces and 14 digs, proving herself as an essential resource for the Valiants.
Honorable Mention-
Caylin Caballero (Eastvale, Calif./Walnut) demonstrated her skill set, and dependability on the court. Over the past week facing three teams, she continually showcased her instantaneous athleticism that worked remarkably in the Valiants favor.
During the Farmingdale State match, she tallied 12 kills, one assists, 38 total attacks, one service ace, ten digs. At the Union College Tri-Match against Union she secured 13 kills, 11 digs, and 37 total attacks, and against Nazareth she secured six kills, 27 total attacks, and three digs. Caballero has continually shown her reliability on the court, helping the Valiants reach success.
