PURCHASE, N.Y. — Manhattanville University's women's volleyball team had three players selected as top players this past week in the Skyline Conference Weekly Report Monday afternoon.
The reigning Skyline Conference Champions have started the 2025 season with an impressive 4-0 record.
Player of the Week-
Loren Hernandez (Toa Baja, Puerto Rico/American Military Academy) recorded a new program record this past week with the Valiants. She earned the all-time kill leader for Manhattanville University's women's volleyball program with 1001 career kills. She surpasses Class of 2018 graduate Kerry Mackey, whose previous record was 1000 all-time kills. So far this season, Hernandez has recorded 57 kills with 4.07 kills/set, earning 64 total points for a 4.57 average per set. She continued to rack in the numbers with 48 DIGs for 3.43 a set, 85 total attacks, and six service aces.
Libero of the Week-
Kayla Jennings (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Lakeland) has proven herself as a notable asset to the Valiants squad this season. With eight service aces, 87 DIGs for 6.21 a set, and 95 total attacks, there is no question about Jennings reliability on the court.
Rookie of the Week-
Caylin Caballero (Eastvale, Calif./Walnut) made quite a statement for herself in her Valiant debut. In her first four games with Manhattanville, she tallied 51 kills for 3.64 a set for a total of 54.5 points, 3.89 a set, as well as 19 DIGs.
Valiant Volleyball will return again on Thursday September 11th at 7 PM as they face off against Kean University in Union, N.J.
