PURCHASE, N.Y. - Manhattanville University athletics opened 2026 with naming Valiant of the Week recipients to Kathleen O'Mara (Huntington, N.Y./Walt Whitman) of women's basketball and Jack Roberts (Middlefield, CT/Lyman Hall) of men's hockey.

KATHEEN O'MARA – WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
O'Mara started off the second half of the season with a combined 22 points, 24 rebounds, and eight steals in an away game against Purchase and at home against Saint Joseph's Long Island. By adding five blocks to her season totals, she now sits atop the team with Molly Russom (Broadalbin, N.Y./Broadalbin-Perth) with 10.
In the game at Purchase, the sophomore posted her first collegiate double-double, finishing with a career-best 17 rebounds, 12 points, three assists, five steals, and two blocks.

Women's basketball remains home against Old Westbury tomorrow, Jan 13, at 6 PM.

JACK ROBERTS – MEN'S BASKETBALL
In the three games over the past week, the freshman added to his season totals in goals and assists. Roberts scored the lone goal at Salve Regina (Jan. 6), putting him in a three-game streak with goals coming at Hobart (Dec 13) and in the team's first win of the season at New England College (Jan 3).
The Middlefield, Conn. native leads his squad in goals with five in his young career.

Men's hockey travels to Geneseo Friday, Jan 16, and Saturday, with the first puck drop of the weekend falling at 7 PM.
