NEW YORK, N.Y. – Isiah Middleton (Miami, Fla./Westminster Christian) of the Manhattanville University men's basketball team was named a Met Basketball Writers Association (MBWA) Weekly Honorable Mention for his performance in the week of Jan. 5-11, the organization announced earlier today.
Middleton is the second member of his team to earn the accolade this season, after
Andrew Saint-Louis (Norwalk, Conn./Notre Dame Fairfield) earned recognition on Dec. 16.
The junior transfer led the Valiants last week with 41 points, 13 rebounds, three steals, two blocks and an assist in a pair of contests. In Wednesday's win over Purchase, Middleton shot 67 percent (10-of-15) from the floor as he put up 22 points, his fourth time scoring 20-plus on the year. He added seven rebounds, a steal and an assist against the Panthers. Three days later, Middleton scored 19 on a .500 shooting clip against Sarah Lawrence, finishing with six more rebounds, two steals and a pair of blocks.
Middleton and the Valiants open action this week on Wednesday, traveling to Mount Saint Vincent for a 6 p.m. matchup.
