PURCHASE, N.Y. — Manhattanville University men's hockey forward, Lucas Baksay (Fairfield, Conn./Connecticut Roughriders (EHL)) has been named the United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) Men's Player of the Week for the first time this season, for the week of January 12–18, as announced by the conference Monday afternoon.

Baksay delivered a standout performance during Manhattanville's two-game series against No. 11/11 SUNY Geneseo at the Ira S. Wilson Ice Arena. On Friday night, Baksay turned in a historic outing, recording four goals to propel the Valiants to a thrilling 4–3 overtime victory over the Knights. He finished the contest with an .800 shooting percentage and a .400 for the weekend, marking a monumental performance for the program.

The win over Geneseo represented Manhattanville's first regular-season victory over a ranked opponent since December 9, 2018, against Trinity College. It also marked the program's first four-goal performance by a single player since Ken McLean accomplished the feat on January 18, 2020, against Neumann.

Baksay continued his strong play on Saturday afternoon, registering three shots on goal during regulation, though the Valiants ultimately fell 7–0 to the Knights.

Baksay and the Valiants will return to action at home on Friday, January 23, when they host SUNY Brockport at the Playland Ice Casino with puck drop scheduled for 7 PM.
