PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Manhattanville University Department of Athletics and Recreation and Manhattanville's Associate Vice President of Athletics and Recreation Julene Caulfield have announced the hiring of Jack Landel as the next head coach of the Valiant men's lacrosse program, effective October 1, 2026.

Landel becomes the 11th head coach in the program's history.

"I am extremely thankful to Julene Caulfield and the search committee for this opportunity to lead the men's lacrosse program here at Manhattanville," Landel said. "I am thrilled to be back at such an amazing university. I look forward to continue building upon what we started the last two years and foster a team-first culture based on growth, trust, toughness and grit."

Landel spent the last two seasons on the sidelines of GoValiants.com Field as the lead assistant coach for the Valiants under coach Tom Albano. Across 2025 and 2026, the Valiants earned 12 total wins and made the Skyline Conference Championship Tournament in both seasons. In April, the Valiants won their first postseason contest since 1992, defeating Mount Saint Vincent 12-11 in the Skyline First Round matchup.

Prior to his original tenure at Manhattanville, Landel coached at the high school level, serving as an assistant coach at Ramapo High School from 2021 to 2024 and working with New Jersey-based Tri-State Lacrosse as a high school coach since 2019. In 2023, Landel was named Group 3 Assistant Coach of the Year for his work with Ramapo.

A resident of Wyckoff, New Jersey, Landel holds a bachelor's of arts from Rutgers University in human resource management and a minor in labor studies along with a master's of science in sport business management from Manhattanville.

"I look forward to helping the young men in this program grow on the field, the classroom and in life. I am very excited to see what the future has to hold for this program and what we're able to accomplish."
