Field Hockey Concludes 2026 Season at William Paterson

WAYNE, N.J. – The Manhattanville University field hockey program concluded its season with a 4-0 loss to William Paterson on Wednesday night. The Valiants conclude the 2026 campaign 5-11.

Hannah Doherty (Clarkstown, N.Y./Clarkstown South) made four saves, stopping two critical breakaway moments for WP. The Valiants were held to seven shots in the contest while fighting for ten penalty corners. After a dry spell in the first 15 minutes, Shannon Keena (Pearl River, N.Y./Pearl River) inserted to Alyssa Damore (Pawling, N.Y./Pawling), who sent a shot to the goalie's dominant side. After the Pioneers tipped in a loose ball in front of the cage for the second goal of the game, the Valiants fought for another corner. Emelina Leccese (Rocky Point, N.Y./Rocky Point / Islanders Elite) ripped a ball towards the cage, as the goalie found her way into her second save of the game.

Keira Guinan (Seaford, N.Y./Seaford) and Sabina Cosmo (Harrison, N.Y./Harrison) fired off shots for their team in the first half. In the second half, Leccese fired off the sole shot in the second half for the Vals.

In the night game, the Pioneers played their best game of the season, outscoring the Valiants 4-0.
