Women's Volleyball Rolls Past Yeshiva to Move Into Fourth in Skyline Standings

BRONX, N.Y. – The Manhattanville University women's volleyball team swept a late-night tilt on the road against Yeshiva University, defeating the Maccabees in three sets. With the win (25-2, 25-19, 25-3), the Valiants move into fourth in the conference standings with two matches left to go in the regular season. Manhattanville improve to 9-10 overall and 6-3 in Skyline play.

Manhattanville hit a season-high .338 in the win, the second time this season the team eclipsed a .300 clip. Conversely, Yeshiva's -.167 attack percentage was the lowest a Valiant opponent has had in 2026. Cassidy Fallon (Brewster, N.Y./Brewster) did the heavy lifting for the Valiant attack, accounting for 12 of the team's 36 kills. Aurea Obradors (Barcelona, Spain/Benjamin Franklin International School) supplied another eight over her two sets of play, while Izzy Mojica (Tolland, Conn./The Woodstock Academy) added six across three frames.

Alana Rivera Torres (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico/Colegio Marista de Guaynabo) finished with 19 assists in two sets, while Eva Becerra (West Covina, Calif./Walnut) added 13 in just one frame on the floor. Rivera Torres would also lead the Valiants in digs alongside Kayla Jennings (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Lakeland), with the senior pair each earning six. Erika Erazo (New Fairfield, Conn./New Fairfield) dug out five balls and added four aces, second to only Jennings' five from the service line.

Monika Gojcaj (Brewster, N.Y./Kennedy Catholic) opened the night with a match-starting kill to get the Valiants' 5-0 run started, with Rivera Torres adding three aces. Yeshiva got two of the next three on a pair of Manhattanville attack errors, but it was all Valiants the rest of the way as the visitors scored 19-consecutive points with Jennings controlling the serve for a 25-2 opening decision. Obradors had six kills in the run, while Jennings logged all five of her aces on the night in the set.

Not quite repeating the dominance on display in the first, Manhattanville and Yeshiva went back-and-forth to ten different tied scores to begin the second to a 12-12 stalemate. The Valiants finally took the upper hand on a 4-0 run thanks to kills from Fallon and Samantha Andriola (Garden City South, N.Y./Sacred Heart Academy) along with a pair of Maccabee errors. Manhattanville's lead climbed to eight at 22-14 and held off one last Yeshiva push, winning 25-19 on a service error.

Manhattanville returned to first set form to close out the contest, hitting .320 in the third. The Valiants broke a 1-1 tie with nine-straight points and never looked back, getting three aces from Mojica and a kill each from Caylin Caballero (Eastvale, Calif./Walnut), Gojcaj and Obradors. Only a Valiant attack error halted Manhattanville before rattling off another 14 consecutive points, this time with Erazo piloting at the line with four aces. Two rallies later, a Yeshiva attack error gave the Valiants the 25-3 match-sealing win.
