After four lead changer began the morning and had the hosting Golden Eagles up 8-7, Manhattanville scored five-straight points to take a lead they never surrendered in the opening set. Fallon provided the first two kills of the run ahead of another kill from Caballero, a Callaghan ace, and a Fallon-Rivera Torres block, putting the Valiants in front 12-8. The Golden Eagles got back within one point on three occasions before Manhattanville gained breathing room with a three-point spurt, leading 20-16. The Valiants held off one last push from Saint Joseph's, closing the set on another 3-0 run to take the set, 25-20.
Manhattanville hit .375 in the second, recording 17 kills en route to the win. The Golden Eagles withstood the barrage at the start, scoring four-straight points to lead 7-5, but Manhattanville scored six of the next seven to take the lead. Leading 11-9, Manhattanville took over with a ten-point run, getting four kills from Caballero, a pair of aces from Rivera Torres, and a kill each from Gojcaj and Rivera Torres. The Golden Eagles had no response to the run as the Valiants soon after sealed the 25-12 victory with a Callaghan termination.
The Valiants looked to run away with the third set as well, scoring the opening four points. Saint Joseph's was able to erase the early deficit as the sides battled to three ties up to an 11-11 stalemate. Manhattanville took the upper hand on another 4-0 run before the Golden Eagles responded with six-straight to go up 17-15. The teams traded three-point runs to move the score to 20-18 in favor of the home side, but a Caballero kill started a 7-0 Manhattanville match-sealing run, getting four aces from Caballero ahead of Andriola and Gojcaj teaming up for the winning block at 25-20.
