PURCHASE, N.Y. – Shai Graham (Bronx, N.Y./Bronx Theatre High School) continues to rewrite the record books for track and field, while Jori Wilkendorf (Livermore, Calif./Livermore) is dominant in the circle and recorded the first solo no-no of her career. Both athletes had standout performances over the week, tabbing the Valiant of the Week titles.
SHAI GRAHAM – TRACK & FIELD
Shai Graham (Bronx, N.Y./Bronx Theatre High School) delivered a record-breaking performance, rewriting the program's top marks in both sprint events. The senior clocked an 11.01 finish in the 100-meter, surpassing his own previous record of 11.11 set two years ago, while placing seventh in a competitive 41-runner field. Graham followed up with a 22.54 in the 200-meter to take 13th overall, breaking a 15-year-old program record previously held by Chrys Malone (22.60).
JORI WILKENDORF – SOFTBALL
Jori Wilkendorf (Livermore, Calif./Livermore) was dominant in the circle, tossing her fourth collegiate no-hitter in a win over Sarah Lawrence. The outing marked her first solo no-hitter and came just one hit-by-pitch shy of a perfect game. Wilkendorf retired the first 14 batters she faced before issuing a hit-by-pitch with two outs in the final inning, then regrouped to secure the no-hitter with her eighth strikeout of the game.
She followed that outing with another strong performance at home against St. Joseph's Brooklyn, allowing just three singles while holding all runners to second base or less. Wilkendorf added three strikeouts in the effort, improving to 10-3 on the season while lowering her ERA to 1.89.
