Men's Tennis Logs Third-Straight 7-0 Win, Blanking Mount Saint Mary

NEWBURGH, N.Y. – The Manhattanville University men's tennis team continued its stellar spring on Monday afternoon, winning a third-straight 7-0 decision by blanking Mount Saint Mary on the road. The Valiants improve to 8-7 overall, now 7-1 against DIII teams this spring, and remain a perfect 4-0 in the Skyline.

After being named Skyline Conference Player and Rookie of the Week earlier in the day, Thomas Jouanneau (Luneville, France/Lycee Arago) and Elouan Charretteur (Fontainebleau, France/Lycée International Francois Premier 1er) made quick work of John Paul Corini and Luke Baylis in No. 1s, 6-0. Manhattanville wrapped up the doubles point with Kazuma Kato (Nerima, Tokyo, Japan/Aioi Gakuin) and Sami Badre-Hume's (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bay Ridge Prep) 6-1 win over Sean Watson and Marco Collarelli in the No. 2 flight. Nicholas Gervasi (Melbourne, Victoria, Australia/Epsom College) and John Curtin (Brewster, N.Y./Brewster) ultimately dropped the No. 3 tilt to Dylan Stackpole and Christian Forcelli, 3-6.

The Valiants were winners in all six singles flights, with Kato winning 6-0, 6-2 on the show court over Corini. Jouanneau bested Baylis, 6-1, 6-0, in No. 2s, while Charretteur defeated Watson 6-2, 6-3 in the No. 3 flight. Gervasi held off Collarelli 6-2, 7-6 in the No. 4 showdown, with Badre-Hume defeating Stackpole 6-1, 6-0 in No. 5s and Robert Zomer (Bussum, the Netherlands/Sint Vituscollege) besting Forcelli in No. 6s, 6-0, 6-2.
